Helping Neurodiverse Children and Adults to thrive

  • Do you or your loved one have specific learning difficulties?
  • Is impulsivity, time management or keeping focussed a problem?
  • Perhaps emotional self regulation, social skills and healthy relationships are the struggle?
  • Is low self esteem and anxiety stopping you from participating in life?

The behaviours that underpin the difficulties, problems and struggles are NOT deliberate. They are 'mistakes' caused by a different way of thinking and misunderstandings.

Dyslexia is the specific learning difficulty of a person who struggles with reading, writing and spelling. It happens because the person's natural way of thinking does not solve confusions with 2D letter shapes and non-noun words.

Dyscalculia is the specific learning difficulty of a person who struggles with maths. It happens because the person's natural way of thinking does not solve confusions with maths concepts and symbols – a ‘maths’ dyslexic is unable to picture the meaning of maths words.

ADHD is the diagnosis of a person who struggles to focus on a task. It happens because the person's natural way of thinking is to be curious about what is happening, how things work and what things are. They may, frequently and for long periods of time, alter their perception of reality (daydream) or rapidly shift their attention and so miss out on important information.  Unbeknown to them they are often left with confusions and misunderstandings to do with the concept of 'time' and 'consequence'.

Autism is the diagnosis of a person who struggles to form successful and effective relationships, has repetitive behaviours and difficulties with language. It happens because the person's understanding of themselves, others and the world around them is chaotic, full of confusion and different.

The Simple Solution

Replace confusion with certainty and difficulties disappear.
